Razer's new Hammerhead Bluetooth headphones take aim at the high-end
Razer, perhaps best known for their gaming accessories, are forever pushing into broader territory.
Razer have developed in-ear headphones under the Hammerhead brand before, but these new Razer Hammerhead BT earbuds look like a step up.
Featuring Qualcomm's apX codec designed especially for wireless audio, the Hammerhead BT promise hand-free calls and undisturbed audio quality on an eight hour charge.
As far as earbuds go, the Razer Hammerhead BT set heads towards the high-end, clocking in at $99.99 / €109,99, but the proof will be in the listening.
Engineered to deliver clear and cordless audio, the new Razer Hammerhead BT is a Bluetooth 4.1 in-ear headset that features the Qualcomm aptX® codec for low-latency, high-quality audio. Mobile users may enjoy uninterrupted listening and calls with a battery life of up to eight hours per charge.
The Razer Hammerhead BT comes with an in-line remote and microphone that is compatible with iOS or Android devices, providing easy call pick-up or music track navigation.
Both Razer Hammerhead models are outfitted with custom-tuned 10 mm dynamic audio drivers, which are larger than most earbuds in their class. An aluminum acoustic chamber enhances music reproduction while adding to durability. Each Razer Hammerhead comes with a carrying case that includes additional ear tip sizes to ensure fit and sound isolation.
Razer's Hammerhead BT headset will also leverage unique features on iOS, allowing users to ask Siri to skip tracks and access other music controls. The headset lists Android and iOS compatibility, but there's no reason to think it wouldn't work on Windows 10 Mobile as well, due to its support of Bluetooth 4.1
